materials

Here is what you need.

  • Paper - colored paper is fun, but you can use white paper and then color it yourself.
  • Scissors - remember to use safety scissors.
  • A marker or pen, or pencil, or crayon - just something to write or draw with.
  • I used a hole punch. You'll see why at the end.
first fold

Fold your paper once, in half.

second fold

Fold your paper again, this way. You will unfold it later, but it's easier to do it this way because you'll see exactly where the quarter-marks on the paper are without having to measure anything.

unfold

Told you. Unfold the paper. Now you can see the lines on the paper where you'll need to re-fold it the way you need to in the next picture - in a zig-zag.
