Dinosaur Days

By Elizabeth Bushey

I’d love the days of dinosaurs:
Those happy, simpler times.
I’d race an allosaurus
just to get my exercise.

Those lush green days of dinosaurs!
There’s nothing I would lack.
Jurassic dinners set on plates
on stegasaurus’ back.

The late Cretacious creature
Didn’t have a brain like ours.
They couldn’t grow their vegetables
Or work away their hours.

Oh, the days of dinosaurs
To try them on for size
No rooms to clean, no lima beans
Just giant dragonflies.
